No downside, just a great bike for not a lot of money, describes the Wilier Lavaredo.
 The Lavaredo has such clean classic lines that traditionalists will find it very appealing, even before they step on for a ride. The combination of an elegant frame design, quality paint finish, and the use of matching components throughout ensures a pleasing result.
Bikes are for riding though and it is on the road that the Lavaredo really shines, performing as would be expected, coming from an Italian bike company with a pedigree dating back over 100 years.
The Lavaredo frame is crafted from lightweight triple butted aluminium tubing and features internal 1 1/8” headset and is equipped with carbon fibre front forks to reduce weight and road vibration.
Campagnolo has long been the component choice of many riders, with its legendary reliability and ease of use being much sought after attributes. The logical ergonomics of the Ergopower gear shift mechanism is so simple to use, particularly for those with smaller hands as upshifting is just a push of a lever and a downshift is even easier with the push of a button and the 10 speed (20 gears in total) drive train is all Campagnolo. Braking is also from Campagnolo with dual pivot brake calipers providing confident and safe stopping under any riding conditions, even if you do get caught out in the rain.
The Fulcrum wheels have also proved to be reliable and hard wearing and are an ideal “every day use” wheel.
Normally priced at $1899, the Wilier Lavaredo is a stunningly good buy at just $1299 and will be a most enjoyable ride, be it your first foray into road biking, an update from something older or as a deluxe training bike for the serious racer.
