Planet Bike Blaze Superflash 1wattThe Blaze Superflash is twice as powerful as the Superflash 1/2 watt if you do the maths, but the difference is actually much greater in real life. The light output by this lightweight little unit seems much more than double as it shines much further down your path, and also illuminates your peripheral vision better, enabling you to see things like low hanging tree branches. It has three operating modes - high beam, low beam and flash. It still only uses two AA batteries, and the downside to keeping it so small and compact and light is that the run time is not as good as some of the lower power lights. On high beam, 2 AAs will only last 7 hours, but low beam lasts 14 and flash lasts 20 hours. If you commute in winter and need a light that you can turn up brighter on the back streets but can leave on flash through the city then this one would suit.
